Credit Karma has made a disruptive change to the traditional personal credit services model: offering free credit reports and credit scores to individual consumers.Prior to January 2015, these credit reports and credit scores came from TransUnion, the third largest credit bureau in the U.S. Since January 2015, Equifax, the second largest credit bureau in the U.S., also offers reports and scores. Consumers simply need to visit Credit Karma's website to take advantage of this free credit information service (at other credit bureau websites, their own credit card information is required even to take advantage of the free test service). Credit Karma also provides free online tools and information to help consumers understand their credit scores and give them credit management advice to improve their credit (such as reducing their credit utilization and increasing their online payments).
